No PHP. No problem. Secure and with no PHP dependency

Native business apps and web client – a platform without PHP

The flexmobility platform does not use PHP – neither for its native business apps nor for the supplementary web client. Our platform is therefore not dependent on PHP or its security updates. This also applies to the deployment of business apps in the browser.

The decision not to use PHP is an integral part of our platform architecture. The focus is on the seamless deployment of business apps for a variety of use cases.

The focus is on native business apps for iOS, Android and Windows. Using OneConfig technology, an application is configured once and then deployed to the respective platforms.

In this way, we combine simple, centralised configuration with the advantages of native applications.

Native apps rather than relying on a browser

The native applications of the flexmobility platform can access device functions such as the camera, GPS, barcode scanner, RFID or OCR directly and support fully offline processes.

In professional use, there is more to it than just a compelling user interface: stability, secure communication, offline capability, device integration and connectivity to enterprise systems must all work together seamlessly. The native architecture of the flexmobility platform is designed to deliver a consistently smooth user experience: immediate responses to user input and seamless, stable screen transitions – without stuttering, noticeable delays or crashes when executing tasks or switching between views.

This is precisely why the flexmobility platform was designed as an end-to-end platform.

Also in the browser: without PHP

Not every business process takes place on a mobile device.

That is why configurations of the flexmobility platform can also be made available as a web application in a browser. The same platform can therefore support a range of use cases, from native mobile clients to desktop workstations.

Even the browser-based deployment for stationary clients (webshops, portals, etc.) does not require PHP. The supplementary web client therefore remains part of the same PHP-free platform – and is not a separate PHP-based solution.

One platform instead of a patchwork of different technological environments

This offers companies a further advantage: mobile and desktop applications do not need to be developed as separate, independent solutions.

The OneConfig technology of the flexmobility platform enables a single configuration to be deployed across different target platforms.

This reduces technological dependencies and keeps the application landscape manageable. At the same time, deep integration with existing enterprise systems is maintained. The platform is designed to integrate with systems such as ERP, DMS and PLM systems.

Security starts with the architecture

Security is therefore not just an additional feature for us.

It starts with the question of the technical foundation on which business applications are run and what dependencies this creates. We have deliberately chosen not to use PHP anywhere on the flexmobility platform. This does not mean that software is fundamentally free from security risks: Even a PHP-free platform requires ongoing maintenance and security updates.

Native clients, centralised configuration, integrated device functions, offline capability and a controlled connection to existing enterprise systems together form the foundation of the flexmobility platform.

After all, modern business apps need more than just new features. Above all, they need an architecture that businesses can rely on in the long term.
