Voortmann benefits from a high degree of automation

Voortmann’s service specialists rely on a mobile app for their field work and benefit from a high degree of automation in their day-to-day operations. In the field of service, maintenance and repair, the use of mobile devices is becoming increasingly important. This is also the case at the medium-sized company Voortmann in Issum (Lower Rhine).

Voortmann plant services

Voortmann combines plant engineering, services, and a trading and spare parts business under one roof in the fields of pneumatics, compressed air, hydraulics, electrical engineering and loading technology.
The specialist in control, compressed air and loading systems has recently introduced a mobile solution that effectively streamlines the interaction between internal administration and the field service.

We are a full-service provider in our field; to ensure we can effectively manage the increasing workload of our day-to-day operations as our client base grows, we rely on seamless, IT-supported processes.

Mobile service app for field staff

Since 2017, Voortmann has been using the mobile technology from the flexmobility platform and the associated flexmobility service template in its field service operations; these are developed and distributed by the Düsseldorf-based digitalisation specialists, 3mobility solutions GmbH. The initial question was how best to integrate the four key areas of back-office operations, project work, service and maintenance. “We wanted to streamline the entire process between service technicians and back-office staff significantly,” says Robert Sauer, explaining the project. This is because valuable time was often lost before invoicing could take place. Only once the manually recorded reports had reached the back office could the staff transfer the information into the ERP system.
